PHOTOGRAPHS DIFFERENT?
I'm Luke Cleland, a Toronto wedding photographer working across the GTA and Southern Ontario. Thirteen years of blending art, design, and film into my wedding photography have shaped a light and airy, timeless style, crafted to let couples relive that just-married feeling for years to come. I use both editorial and documentary photography techniques to craft film inspired & magazine worthy images in a way that feels natural and unposed.

PHOTOGRAPHY AS ART
From my creative direction on the day, the use of digital and film formats, and the planning and intention that goes into the weeks and months ahead of your wedding day is what sets me apart. I use my love and background in art, design and painting to infuse my artistic mind into every photograph. Instead of oil and acrylic, I use emotion, architecture and fashion to create my work.

The best photographs are taken when you're having the best time. My role isn’t just to capture your day, but to guide you into it and not away from it. It takes a different type of artist to not only capture exceptional images, but to guide their subjects in such a way to experience something beautiful as well. WHERE I WORK
While based in Toronto I regularly photograph weddings around the GTA, and Southern Ontario. I’ve been privileged enough over the years to photograph weddings as far away as Hong Kong, Paris, and London. So if your wedding takes place outside of Ontario you can inquire for travel availability.
I thought I was going to be a painter, that my design degree would help me get there, and that photographing weddings would help pay my way through design school. But little did I know, as I blended my love for art and design into my wedding photography not only were couples drawn to my artistic way of photographing weddings, but I fell in love with the ability to help couples hold on to that just-married feeling forever.

I don't aim for a magazine look, my work just looks like magazine quality. What sets me apart is the ability to get that look without sacrificing experience. I balance clear direction, with natural occurring moments to obtain my style. If you would rather a complete hands off approach from your photographer, we won't be a good fit.

WHAT I OFFER
Over the past 13 years photographing weddings in Toronto, I have learned from experience what works best in a wedding photography collection. Every wedding package includes at least 8 hours of coverage, a second photographer, and your final gallery finished in 6 weeks all in my film inspired light & airy style. Coverage is available across the GTA, southern Ontario, and travel beyond that on request. To maintain the highest artistic standards, I personally photograph & edit every one of the limited weddings I take on each year.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
DO YOU SHOOT FILM?
Yes, film is shot at every wedding I photograph. As a Toronto wedding photographer I use film at the points in the day where it does the most for the look, alongside digital. If you'd like your day photographed primarily on film rather than digital, ask me about pricing for that.
IS A SECOND PHOTOGRAPHER INCLUDED?
Yes, a second photographer is included with every wedding collection. It isn't an add-on or an upgrade. A 3rd photographer is available for add-on depending on event size.
HOW MANY HOURS OF COVERAGE DO WE GET, AND CAN WE ADD MORE?
Eight consecutive hours of coverage is included as standard. You can add hours at any point up to the day of the wedding, and the price per hour is the same whether you add them at booking or the week of.
WHEN WILL WE RECEIVE OUR PHOTOS?
Your full gallery is delivered within six weeks of your wedding day. I edit every image myself, so what you receive matches the work you saw before you booked.
HOW DOES BOOKING WORK?
Once you let me know you'd like to book, I send a contract to sign and a 50% retainer to hold your date. The remaining 50% is due three weeks before the wedding. The date is yours as soon as the contract is signed and the retainer is paid.
ARE THERE ANY HIDDEN COSTS?
There are none. Travel within Ontario is included, extra hours are the same price whenever you add them, and HST applies to Ontario clients. Albums, prints, engagement sessions, and additional weekend coverage are the only optional extras.
WHAT IF YOU GET SICK AND CAN'T COME?
You would still have a photographer. I've never been too sick to photograph a wedding, and I have a strong network of local photographers in Toronto and the GTA to call on if it ever happened — my wife was a wedding photographer as well, and could seamlessly step in if needed.
I'M NOT COMFORTABLE IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA. IS THAT OKAY?
Yes, and couples who say this often end up enjoying the photography process the most. Many people's experience of getting their photo taken is awkward — my process is the opposite. Couples who told me beforehand that they were nervous have finished the day telling me it was one of the parts they enjoyed the most. You will leave feeling confident and excited to the see the final images.
